WPSD Installation Guide for Pi-Star
WPSD (W0CHP-PiStar-Dash) is a custom Pi-Star dashboard designed to improve functionality, usability, and performance. Follow this guide to install WPSD on your device.
Important Notice
As of August 26, 2023, WPSD installations require dedicated disk images. The previous method of installing WPSD via an installation script has been discontinued.
Step 1: Download the WPSD Disk Image
Visit the official WPSD download page and select the appropriate disk image for your hardware:
Step 2: Write the Image to an SD Card
Use a tool like **Raspberry Pi Imager** or **balenaEtcher** to flash the downloaded image onto a microSD card:
- Insert your microSD card into your computer.
- Open Raspberry Pi Imager or balenaEtcher.
- Select the WPSD image you downloaded.
- Choose your microSD card as the destination.
- Click **Flash** and wait for the process to complete.
Step 3: Insert the SD Card and Boot
Once the flashing process is complete:
- Remove the SD card from your computer.
- Insert it into your Raspberry Pi running Pi-Star.
- Power on the device and wait for it to boot up.
Step 4: Access the WPSD Dashboard
Once your device has booted, access the WPSD dashboard by entering the following in your web browser:
http://http://wpsd.local/
If that doesn’t work, find your device’s IP address on your router and use:
http://your-device-ip/
Step 5: Configure Your Setup
Log in to the WPSD dashboard and customize the settings as needed.

- Ensure your SD card was properly flashed.
- Use a different SD card if boot issues occur.
